How Do You Provide The Mandatory Disclosure Documents?
Your attorney’s office will review the documents and organize them in order to provide them to your spouse. If any documents are missing, your attorney’s office will request them from you. Ultimately, your attorney will file with the court a document called Certificate of Compliance With Mandatory Disclosure. The Certificate will contain your notarized signature that all of the required documents are being disclosed to your spouse.
The Certificate is filed with the Clerk of Court, BUT the documents are not. The documents are provided to your spouse; they are not filed with the Clerk of Court.
If you are representing yourself, you will do the same thing: File only the Certificate of Compliance With Mandatory Disclosure with the Clerk of Court and provide the documents directly to your spouse. You will want to provide the documents in the same order they are listed on the Certificate of Compliance.
