- interview the child, witnesses, or any other person having information concerning the welfare of the child;
- inspect and copy any records and documents which relate to the minor child (from psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals);
- interview persons having information concerning the welfare of the child;
- interview school personnel and school records;
- request or assist the court in obtaining impartial expert examinations of the child;
- address the court and make written or oral recommendations to the court.
